Fall Has Most Certainly Arrived

I have a cold; I thank Husband for his lovely Labor Day gift. I feel bad I didn't get him anything. One would think that since I can hardly breathe through my nose when running anyway, that this wouldn't interfere with my run schedule, but I am Death walking, so no running is happening.

It's getting cold and it's almost dark more than it is light. I don't like. Thanks in part to my awesome new gams, I finally bought shorts for the first time in 1000 years and I'm not happy about wearing pants again. I AM happy my pants fit better.

I don't know how much longer they'll fit because I bought my first jar of Nutella yesterday and I am addicted. I had a boss once that kept a jar of peanut butter in her desk for a little protein boost, and if I ever go back to work, I will keep a jar of Nutella in my desk. For the protein. It's in there, ok, you just have to eat a lot of the Nutella to get a good boost. Hence re-outgrowing the pants. Seriously, though, I owe someone at cnn.com a thanks for posting an article on the glories of Nutella. No one else had made it sound worth the cost. It is so worth it.

I often make a handful of Christmas presents. This year, I believe there will be a lot of crafting going on to stretch the Christmas Budget. I'm almost too sick to get started, but with less than 4 months to go, and Husband monopolizing the TV on his day off, and no sign of me being well enough to do anything ELSE, I officially kick off Christmas Crafting Season (raised knitting needles click together like champagne glasses toasting). I know love and happy thoughts are supposed to be worked into homemade presents, but there may be a germ or two this year. And a schmear of Nutella, possibly. Sorry about that.

  1. I love your crafting! Looking forward to some really awesome projects.

Nutella. I first had it in german class in high school. It was this first thing I purchased in Columbia on my first trip to Gerbes after my parents dropped me off at Mcdavid Hall. I just got a big jar of it yesterday and I have trouble seeing how it's going to last the week. I've started eating it right off a spoon, I feel like I'm really treating myself if I spread it on white bread and I don't think it'll actually make it into crepes which was the orginal intent. I love Nutella.

  2. I LOVE that it was the first thing you bought. One of the best things about starting college was the realization that you could eat whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted!!

OK, so this article I read suggested drizzling it on hot crescent rolls, so I bought a can of rolls the other day. Since then, I noticed there's a yogurt or Special K or something commercial where the girl makes healthy choices on one side. On the other side she's eating what appears to be a crescent drizzled with nutella...

I'm a huge germophobe, yet somehow I have reasoned that it is ok, while sick, to keep dipping a spoon...sometimes my finger...in the jar. I assume I'll finish it before I'm healthy anyway. :/

  3. I LOVE it on toasted croissants. Or fry it up on some buttered bread in a skillet, all grilled cheese like. I have to stop.
